‘Bubble Wrap iPhone Case’ Gives Never-Ending Popping Fun

Popping bubble wrap always comes with short-lived happiness, as the bubbles don’t regenerate for more fun when they’re completely popped. If you’re like many others who find popping bubble wrap therapeutic and de-stressing, and would like the fun to never end, Japanese mobile phone accessory company Strapya has created an iPhone case that you might like.

The iPhone Bubble Wrap Case not only protects your smartphone from bumps and scratches, but also provides you with never-ending soft bubbles to pop on its back.

How this works? The case is made up of four layers: a soft bubbly layer, underlying push buttons, a “sound” layer that emits a tiny “pop” sound each time you ‘burst’ a bubble, and one that holds the bubbles in place.

Each time you pop a bubble, it inflates to be popped again.

Practically everyone and their pets have a Facebook account these days, so you could probably bet almost everyone is familiar with the ever so popular Like button on the Facebook Platform. But are you aware the button has been made into reality with the ‘Like’ stamp? Cool huh!?

Graphic Product Innovation - 2010/2011 Portfolio

Graphic Product Innovation

The title of the course may be confusing; after all it contains two words which conjure up very different and possibly separate activities. ‘Graphic’ implies graphic design with connotations of print or digital based communication while the term ‘product’ conjures up images of artefact design. ‘Innovation’ is defined in the Cox Review of Creativity in Business as “the successful exploitation of new ideas”.

Year 2 (2010/2011) encouraged my exploration and application of the skills and principles introduced in my first year as well as introducing me to additional concepts and practices. I was able to access relevant facilities and resources introduced in my first year and gained experience of working independently and collaboratively in the studio. I was offered experience of a broad range of media in both two and three dimensions and sought to challenge my preconceptions of what constitutes ‘graphic’, and ‘product’ and in doing so was encouraged to adopt an innovative approach to the development of ideas and concepts.

Enjoy!

Soap Flakes

Swiss Nathalie Staempfli designed two ingenious soap dispensers that turn a soap bar into beautiful little soap flakes. One version attaches to the wall and allows you to use it with one hand. The other version is a grater that can stand by itself. It can be placed in the same way as a shower gel or shampoo.

Soap bars are more concentrated than liquid soap which has an ecological benefit: You don’t transport water around the globe and they only use paper for packaging. The solid blocks can easily be piled and allow a greater space efficiency during transportation.
